Creation and the Ice Age

Posted: September 8, 2014 in Uncategorized

Most Bible readers expect the translation of the Bible they are using to be accurate to the Hebrew text. So, do the “standard” translations always translate the text correctly? No they do not, and sometimes a single word can take an original meaning far from its intended context.

We will start with an easy mystery to solve. Science and Religion have an ongoing battle about the Ice Age. Science has physical evidence of its existence and religion denies it ever taking place. How could the church accept it? It goes against everything they teach. It doesn’t correspond with the timeline of man in the Bible. There is no mention of it…. or is there?

If you were to do extensive research on the age of Earth, you will find countless theories and numerous mathematical equations. Some believe that there may be small gaps in the genealogies of Genesis 5 and 11 and put the maximum age of the Earth at about 10,000–12,000 years. Most Bible scholars, through mathematical estimation by taking the first five days of creation (from earth’s creation to Adam), then following the genealogies from Adam to Abraham in Genesis 1:5 and 1:11, then adding in the time from Abraham to today which puts the time of creation approximately 6,000 years ago.

Dr. Henry Morris compiled a list of 68 uniformitarian estimates for the age of the earth by Christian and secular sources. The current accepted age of the earth is 4.54 billion years, which is based on radiometric dating of a group of meteorites
There is a huge gap between 4.54 billion years and 6,000 years and one massive gray area between science and religion. Many scholars have tried to close that gap with the “Gap Theory”.

James Ussher (1581-1665) was the first to estimate the age of the Earth using genealogies of the Bible. Ussher stated in 1650 that the Earth was created on October 22, 4004 BC. This date was later reproduced in many editions of the Bible and was incorporated into the dogma of the Christian church. For nearly a century thereafter, it was considered heresy to assume that Earth and its puzzling geologic features were more than ~6000 years old. Thus, a very young Earth provided a basis for most chronologies until the 18th century.

The King James Version of the Bible was produced in 1611 and is the backbone of today’s Christianity. Before that, there were two other English translations. The first was the Great Bible commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII (1535), and the second was the Bishops’ Bible of 1568. All three Bibles are an English translation from the original ancient languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Now there are 233 different versions of the Bible on the market. This creates a lot of confusion as to what is the actual word of God.

Late one night, after the normal television programming ended, I was writing with the television on for background noise. It was around 2am when something on the television caught my attention. It was a broadcast of Pastor Melissa Scott. She was breaking down the English translation by comparing it to the original language it was written. I quickly realized that a single word in Hebrew could be an entire sentence on its own and take on a completely new meaning. Here is where the answers to the Bible can be found if you know how to look for them, and this is where the problem with organized religion is. It teaches only the face value of the English translation. The truth is not being told because they believe the King James Version of the Bible is 100% accurate. They will argue its accuracy until they are blue in the face. The arrogance and lack of intelligence is, and will be, the downfall of man.

Hosea 4:6 – “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”

It is the arrogance of man that has warped the Bible and has turned so many people away from God. The Bible is not the beginning of time. How foolish can one be to believe this? Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything to back up that belief.
Nowadays, people are leaning towards the “Big Bang” theory, but that’s all it is, a theory. No one actually knows when the planets were formed, it is all speculation, yet people on both sides of the fence will argue about it. Science does so attempting to dispel the belief in God, and religion does it to discredit science. As I said, if you look closely, the two can be united.

The arrogance of man would be laughable if it wasn’t so frightening. The same people that whole-heartedly believe in the Bible, goes to church every Sunday, has fallen for the fabricated claim that the world was created 6,000 years ago, are the same people that will visit the Grand Canyon, and will believe that it took approximately 17 million years to form, which has been proven by a technique called uranium-lead dating. Look at what man has done since the development of the first automobile in 1885. In 130 years, we have gone from horse and carriage to a race hell bent on destroying the planet. There will be no Star Trek future of peace and tranquility for us as so many hoped to have. Science can take God out of the equation, but the truth is we don’t have another 200 years remaining as the human race. Only a fool would believe that we do.

Herein lays the undeniable arrogance of man. This planet has been wiped out before, and it is gearing up to do so again. If there is no God, another race will emerge millions of years from now and they too will dig up our ruins and wonder what happened to us as we have done with those before us.

Let’s start with the fable that Lucifer (Satan) creates things to cause confusion that I mentioned earlier and this will take us to the beginning. Lucifer cannot create anything. He can influence, but not create. There is no question about his hand involved with the development of the Atom Bomb and Nuclear Energy, both of which can destroy humankind. The same as man, they both can only develop things with components that were already in existence.

The English language’s use of the word “creation” is flawed with its definition, and this is what leads us into bridging the gap between science and religion. The word “creation” also takes us to the beginning of the Bible, and Genesis is the beginning of something else.

The word “creation” is what all religious people hang onto in Genesis. Take a closer look at the word. Creation in Hebrew is Bara’ and the definitions for Bara’ are:

•to create, shape, form
•of individual man
•of new conditions and circumstances
•of transformations
•of birth
•of something new
•of miracles
•to be fat
•to fill

When you think of the word “creation” in Genesis, look at the true definitions more closely, especially, “of new conditions and circumstances”, “of transformations”, “of birth”, and “of something new”.

Genesis 1:1 of the King James Translation reads:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
However, the ancient Hebrew Transliteration is:
B’rëshiyt Bärä élohiym ët haSHämayim w’ët hääretz

Hebrew to English Translation:
“in the summit “Elohiym [Powers] fattened the sky and the land.”

Elohiym is the name of God [Powers} “plural form” in this dialect. I’m assuming they chose “create” from one of the many definitions of Bara’ “as seen by the use of the word “fattened” because it suited their belief. But what if they were wrong and it meant, “of new conditions and circumstances,”“of transformations” or “to fill.” If so, this alone will unite science and religion. I want you to pay close attention to the translation of “sky and land” from ancient Hebrew to “heaven and earth” in the King James Version. This comes into play many times in Genesis to what it is referencing.

The Hebrew word “bara” is a verb and is usually translated as “create”. To really understand what this word means let us look at another passage where this word is used.

1 Samuel 2.29 – Why do you scorn my sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for my dwelling? Why do you honor your sons more than me by fattening yourselves on the choice parts of every offering made by my people Israel?”

The word “fattening” in the passage above is the Hebrew word “bara”. The noun form of this verb is “beriya” and can be found in Genesis 41.4 – “And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows.” The word “fat” is the Hebrew word “beriya”.

The word “bara” does not mean, “create” (Hebrew actually has no word that means “create” in the sense of something out of nothing) but “to fatten”. If we take the literal definition of “bara” in Genesis 1.1 we have – In the beginning God fattened the heavens and the earth. What does this fattening of the heavens and earth mean? This verse is not showing the creation of the heaven and earth, but rather the fattening or filling up of it.

The earth could not have logically been formed prior to the sun (even though Genesis says just the opposite), which is verifiably alluded to be 6000 years old in the Bible. We are able to observe planets in other solar systems consistently forming after their celestial anchors. In fact, it’s scientifically impossible for life to thrive on a planet without a proximate location to a star.

My quest for answers could not be found in today’s Bible. I had to go back to the Mechanical Hebrew Translation. The first from the original scrolls could not be found anywhere I looked. I want to give you a visual sampling of what my research entailed so that you can understand the process and where the answers revealed themselves. I will use Genesis 1:2 for the example.

Revised Mechanical Translation
(corrected for English grammar)
and the land had existed in confusion and was unfilled and darkness was upon the face of the deep sea and the wind of “Elohiym [Powers]” was much fluttering upon the face of the water,

King James Translation
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters

American Standard Version
And the earth was waste and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

World English Bible
Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. God`s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Let’s break down Genesis 1:2 right here before going any further. Now you tell me, where did they get “And the earth was without form, and void” out of the ancient language that reads, “and the land had existed in confusion and was unfilled”? You need to remember, that King James and the 47 scholars were under severe scrutiny of the Roman Catholics while performing the translation to create the Canon, whom also decided to leave out 10 other books. Those books have the answers to so many questions, but I will get to them later.

However, if you really study the King James Version, the answers are there, but you cannot take each word literally in its English form.

The Bible is far more complex than most people even realize. I will show you with a single scripture in the most used King James Version since scholars believe it is the most accurate translation.

Genesis 1:2 – And the earth was*1 without form*2, and void*3; and darkness*4 was*5 upon the face of the deep*6 .*7 And the Spirit of God*7 moved upon the face of the waters.

*1). The word “was” is the English translation of a Hebrew word (hayah) which means “to be, become, come to pass, exist”. In other words, the earth was not created without form and void, but that it became that way at some point in time after it was created.

*2). The words “without form” was translated from the Hebrew word (tohuw) that means: wasteland, place of chaos and desolation. The earth could not be a wasteland or desolate unless it was once in good condition and then at some later time it was destroyed.

*3). The word “void” is translated from the Hebrew word (bohuw) which is from an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, i.e. (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin:–emptiness, void. You cannot have a ruin unless there was at first, something to ruin.

*4-5). The word “darkness” (choshek) combined with the word “was” as it is used here means to become dark. You cannot darken something that was not lit in the first place.

*6). The word “deep” corresponds with the description of the destruction of the first earth age by water in 2 Peter 3:5-6

*7). There is a period “.” at the end of this sentence, where the following sentence marks the beginning of rejuvenation.

The ancient Hebrew for Genesis 1:2 changes all that we have been taught for many years, and is one of the many lies told in the church. The first sentence, “the land had existed in confusion and was unfilled”, says it all. If you cannot see it, I want to put emphasis on the words “had”, “existed”, “confusion” and “unfilled”.

So far, God did not create the planet on the first day of Genesis. It HAD already existed. However, it was in confusion and unfilled (absent of life).

However, shocking, in the second verse of the Bible, we read that the earth had changed from its beautiful and perfect state, when it was first created in the beginning, to a totally different ruined state. It had become formless, empty, in darkness and submerged under water.

Scientists believe that a large meteor hit the planet and was a world extinction event. A 40,000-year-old, fully intact, baby Woolly Mammoth was discovered in Siberia in 2007 which proves that an Ice Age took place many years before the 6000 year time frame of creation believed by the religious sect. A hit to the planet by a large meteor would create a blanket of dust for the planet that would last for many years. This would block the sun and the planet would freeze. Oceans would be a sheet of ice and the land covered in snow.

Genesis 1:3 KJV reads: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” However, the ancient Hebrew reads, “and “Elohiym [Powers]” saw the light given that it was functional and “Elohiym [Powers]” made a separation between the light and the darkness.” What was happening here? A dust cloud was blocking the sun from the planet. God made a “separation” between the light and the darkness. In other words, He removed the dust cloud cover so the sun could once again warm the planet.

Genesis 1:6 (KJV) – “And God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

The definition for the word “firmament” in the Webster’s Dictionary is, “the sky”. 1: the vault or arch of the sky: heavens. There is no need for the Hebrew translation for this one because they both say the same thing. But what is taking place here? God is “dividing the waters from the waters”. The sun is melting the ice, causing it to evaporate, and moisture (water) is rising into the sky to create water bearing clouds.

If the planet was being created at this point, why was water being divided from water? Did God mold the earth first and then cover it with water, only to remove part of it afterwards? That makes no sense at all. God would not be Omniscient and no different from any other man that doesn’t read the instruction manual when building something.

We can see the end of the ice age take place in Genesis 1:9. The ice has thawed and the water has evaporated and receded to expose (appear) the once covered land.

Genesis 1:9 (KJV) – “And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.”

The notice of the word “appear “and not the word “create” nor is the Hebrew dialect. The land appeared from under the water, which again points to the water receding.

It amazes me that people, believers and non-believers will read Genesis dozens of times, yet still do not see it for what it is. I have read arguments claiming that Genesis 2 starts on the seventh day, continues onto the eighth, and so forth. Genesis 2: 4-7 is where those seeking the answers need to look. Most people get confused at this juncture. This is not a continuation from the 7th day; and here is where we need to go for a clearer picture, which will put the puzzle pieces into place.

There are numerous theories as to what took place here (as with most of Genesis), and if you are looking for answers, reading those theories will only confuse you. Just read the words yourself without any outside influence.

Genesis 2: 4 – “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,”

Genesis 2:4 is referring to chapter one as a whole. However, keep in mind that the original intent of the word “create” may very well have been “of new conditions and circumstances” or “of transformations.” I want to point out so you will be aware that there is a comma at the end of 2:4, which signifies that 2:5 in a continuation of it.

Genesis 2:5 (KJV) – “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.”

And here it is! It is right there in black and white. Every plant before it (creation) was already in the earth. The ice had melted, the water had receded to expose dry land, and the clouds were forming, but had not yet produced rain. Plants had not yet bloomed from under the soil where the seeds have been lying dormant from being frozen.

God did not create the earth in Genesis. It already existed. What He did was repair and restore it from what it once was. From Verse 2 of Genesis 1 on, the remainder of this first chapter of the Bible is not describing the original creation of the Earth. It is describing the renewal of the face of the Earth, after it had become wasteland due to a cataclysmic event that had destroyed all life on the planet.

The Hebrew word for “was” can also mean “became”. In fact, it was translated many times in the Old Testament as “became” rather than “was“. Genesis 1:2 “and the earth was formless and void..” So it could read “and the earth became formless and void” which completely changes the meaning of the sentence.

My daughter, whom I have schooled with the Bible since a young age, began to withdraw from her belief once she became a teenager. It wasn’t so much due to her age, but more so because of what she was learning in school; to be more specific, her science classes. Science debunks religion because it has physical evidence to back up its claim. This took me back to a time when I questioned the existence of Dinosaurs and was told that the fossils were place here by Satan to cause confusion and disbelief.

Most churches deny the existence of any such creatures roaming the earth that existed before the Genesis 1. However, what you are seeing so far in this book, what is being taught in church is not the absolute truth. After doing extensive research, I cannot understand the thinking of churches. The answers to many questions that people have had for decades are right there in scripture. How is it that the man (or woman) preaching behind the pulpit does not see the answers themselves? Or is it that because of their doctrine, they are not allowed to. Why are so many scriptures being altered or removed? The translations are getting further away from the original context. What is it they are hiding and why? Wouldn’t it be better to unite science and religion to bring more people to God rather than push them away?

The Bible specifically talks about Dinosaurs having existed on earth at one time.
Job 40:15-24 (KJV) – 15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 He shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

If you were to draw a picture from the description of this “Behemoth”, you will most likely have a resemblance of a Brontosaurus. It looks as if not one, but two Dinosaurs are being described here. The “sinews of his stones are wrapped together” brings to mind the two rows of boulder shapes that are down the back of a Stegosaurus. The “Behemoth” in Job is described as a large muscular body with a tail like a Cedar tree; long and mighty. Its bones are very strong and solid, large bone is strong. It is the mightiest of all animals and has no natural predator. It climbed into the mountains. It didn’t have to be in fear of predators at the watering hole. When it drank, it consumed large amounts of water (it could drink up the river Jordan.). It could not be snared (trapped) him. It was the chief of all creatures and it nose was larger and more powerful than any trap that could be laid for it.

Some Bible versions substitute the word ‘behemoth’ with ‘hippopotamus’, and this is an incorrect translation. Where do these men come up with their conclusions? Verse 17 describes a tail like a Cedar tree; a hippo has a little ‘pig tail’. Seeking further dismissal of Dinosaurs, one Christian writer claimed the behemoth was an Elephant. Just how stupid can some people be? Stop attempting to alter what is in the Bible. Again, and Elephant has a tiny, whip like tail. There are and have been no other animals with tail as large as Dinosaurs such as the Brontosaurus that had a tail that grew up to 30 feet long and had the width of a cedar tree. You can see why it is so difficult for people to not think the Bible is a fairy tale when religious organizations skate around the truth and make up solutions on a whim.

Christians will argue this because they believe there must be two witnesses for it to be true. Well, there was a second witness until man decided to remove it from the early Bible, the book of Enoch. The Book of Enoch was considered as Scripture in the Epistle of Barnabas (16:4) and by many of the early Church Fathers, such as Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Irenaeus and Tertullian. The Book of Enoch had been rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to Christ. The book of Enoch describes the Behemoth as “the primal unconquerable monster of the land.” However, it is regarded as canonical by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, but not by any other Christian group.

There are numerous examples of how the stereo-typical Christian will not question the Pastor behind the pulpit and use Gods Word to “rightly divide the Word of truth” instead it takes an effort of a Government to undergo a study to show from science or other journeys to prove what God has already told us. One small example is Christopher Columbus who sailed around the world to prove the earth was round and not flat. He had to get financial back-up from England to perform this in order for people to “believe” it. At that time it was believed that the world was flat. But do you suppose that Columbus may have had the courage to sail the Ocean Blue in 1492 because he may have read the scriptures? Maybe he read Job 26:10 – “is a circle upon the face of the waters, until the day and night come to an end.”

A spherical earth is also described in Isaiah 40:21-22—“the circle of the earth.”
Note, the Biblical Hebrew word for “circle” (חוג—chuwg) can also mean “round” or “sphere.”

Certainly Columbus must have had an inner understanding of the spherical form of the heavens – it is very clear that all of the heavens and the planets and the stars involves a similar form for the earth, and their apparent diurnal rotation certainly means that they are not rigidly connected with the earth, but surround it on all sides at some distance from it. The earth therefore must be freely suspended in space, the same as the sun and the moon and the stars are. And so the Book of Job describes it: ‘He stretcheth out the north over empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing’ (Job 26:7). When we read the word “North” in the Bible it is always referring to the heavens, or the sky. Why do people stick to their own notions when God tells us everything we need to know in the scriptures? The same way Columbus proved Gods Word to be true is the same way that Scientists (atheists or not) are also proving Gods Word to be true. We just need to read it with our eyes and heart open.

Looking at the truth through facts, the gap of creation vs. evolution has been closed between religion and science.
